The Risk Management team identifies, measures and controls many categories of enterprise risk at Two Sigma, including market, credit, operational, liquidity, regulatory and strategic. We value financial and technical expertise; resourcefulness; healthy skepticism; and most importantly a sense of conviction—that it is our privilege and duty to protect the investors, the markets and the firm. We work cross-functionally with research and development teams at Two Sigma, and interact directly with investors, regulators and trading counterparties.
The Accounting, Treasury and Finance teams essentially serve as the bank and bookkeeper of Two Sigma. It’s our job to make sure that capital is available for all our trades, funds and other products – while minimizing our exposure to risk. We control the cash portfolios, and steer collateral and margin management. We oversee annual audits, file tax returns, manage accounts payable and sign off on all the company’s financial reporting. And we’re responsible for the operating expense budget.

Our mission is to build and maintain a scalable and institutional quality operational platform with a focus on control and minimizing risk. Our team manages the transaction life cycle for all trades. We oversee core operational processes that include managing trade capture, reconciliations, P&L, settling trades, processing corporate actions, and servicing OTC assets. Our team works collaboratively with various teams to meet the directives of our business partners and changes in the industry.
The Business Development team is focused on accelerating Two Sigma’s position at the forefront of technology and finance. We help to foster idea generation, lead business expansion, and translate ideas into outcomes. Partnering with business leaders across the company, we’re constantly thinking about the trends shaping our industry and exploring the new – how technology is shaping the future of the financial markets, how markets and asset classes are evolving, how our core capabilities can be extended to new business areas, and more.

SEC, CFTC, FINRA, DOJ, DOL, IRS, FCA or SFC. You name a government agency – whether domestic or foreign, federal or local — and chances are they have some regulation that applies to Two Sigma. Our team’s job is to make sure that Two Sigma stays compliant with all of the rules governing the Firm’s businesses whatever – and wherever – they may be.
